my practice
My years of academic study gave me an extensive, intellectual understanding of the human body and the treatment of various conditions through remedial Massage. My studies provided me with a scientific awareness, systemic, evidence-based, logical understanding. This knowledge equipped me with the structure and confidence to delve deeper into the many curiosities that were arising for me. I sought to know the nature of the body and the origin of imbalance. The connection of parts into a whole image; to bring union and holistic lens to the sectionalized way of thought. Through experience, curiosity and discernment I continue to learn.
Massage Therapy has developed into one of my art forms; it is something I respond to intuitively, that I drop into and flow with. It is a space of meditation and connection, a way that I express my love and devotion to life. For me, massage is a medium of communication, it is a listening to the body — it is feeling into what is there. It is the movement of energy; the correspondence and overlap of the magnetic field of two hearts. I believe in the power of the therapeutic nature of touch. I believe in the inherent intelligence of the body. That to receive touch can be not only remedial and therapeutic, but is an innate component of our well-being.
My intention as a practitioner is to provide a space for individuals to drop into themselves. To feel into the interconnectedness of their body. My treatment style varies depending on each individual's therapeutic needs, but generally consists of long, fluid, rhythmic, broad, slow flow balanced with specific and focused release. I aim to assist each person I treat with their therapeutic goals; whether it be to recover from injury or trauma, to relax and aid their nervous systems, or to develop a greater sense of wellbeing.
I treat people of all ages and walks of life and welcome you to my table with an open heart.
